Berlin | At IFA 2024, AVM is announcing the expansion and renaming of its smart home portfolio. FRITZ!DECT will be renamed to FRITZ!Smart in the near future. Otherwise, everything will remain typically FRITZ!: sophisticated technology, high levels of convenience, versatile applications, and ease of use. At IFA, AVM is presenting FRITZ!Smart 250 for the first time, a sensor for digital electricity meters. Smart Home, when the technology behind it is done right, makes life easier. Studies show that four aspects are particularly important to users: The products must be easy to use and safe. They should also increase convenience and be energy efficient, keeping electricity costs down. With the FRITZ!Box and FRITZ!Smart products, AVM is targeting precisely these needs. A number of smart scenarios can be implemented via the LAN, Wi-Fi, Powerline, Zigbee, DECT and Matter connection paths. With FRITZ!Box so widespread in Germany and Europe, it's easy for many users to start making their house a smart home. The FRITZ!Box is the heart of the smart FRITZ! home network. The FRITZ!Box models communicate with the devices in the home network via the DECT ULE and Zigbee wireless communication standards, enabling smart interaction between all products. In addition, the FRITZ!Smart Gateway can be used to integrate Zigbee devices into the smart home or, thanks to Matter, even control FRITZ!Smart devices via apps from third-party manufacturers. AVM also offers a wide range of options for smart home networking, including smart plugs, intelligent switches, smart radiator controls and current sensors, and the FRITZ!App Smart Home.
